FAQ

Good questions

Everything you might
reasonably ask.

Roast dates, grind choices, subscription mechanics and what happens if you change your mind.

When is coffee roasted?

Every Tuesday, and again on Thursday when volume demands it. Orders placed before Monday 6pm are roasted that week and dispatched within 48 hours of the roast date printed on the bag.

How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?

Usually three to five days off the roast. We roast to order rather than to stock, so nothing sits in a warehouse. Coffee is best between 7 and 30 days after roasting.

Which grind should I choose?

Whole bean if you own a grinder — it stays fresh longest. Otherwise choose espresso for a 9-bar machine, moka pot for a stovetop, AeroPress for immersion, French press for coarse. We grind the morning we pack.

How does the subscription discount work?

15% comes off every subscription line item automatically, before shipping and taxes. You will see it in the cart as a subscription saving. It applies to every delivery, not just the first.

Can I pause or cancel?

Yes, at any time from your account, without contacting us. There is no minimum term, no cancellation fee and no retention call.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship to the US, UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the UAE. International tracked delivery is $16 flat, free over $60. Duties are calculated at checkout where applicable.

How should I store the beans?

In the sealed bag, in a cupboard, away from light and heat. Do not refrigerate. The one-way valve lets carbon dioxide escape without letting oxygen in — squeeze the bag gently to remove air after opening.

Is the packaging really compostable?

The bag, valve and label are home-compostable kraft with a plant-based barrier. Compost them with your food waste; the ink is soy-based. The tin tie is steel and recyclable.

Do you offer wholesale?

Yes — cafés, restaurants and offices from 5 kg a month. Email wholesale@equatororigin.com with your volume and grinder.
